U.S. President, Barack Obama and First Lady, Michelle Obama have delivered their final Christmas address as President and First Lady. The first couple urged the American people to remember the Saviour’s “eternal message, one of boundless love, compassion and hope.” They encourage citizens to treat strangers as they would want to be treated, “no matter where they come from, or how they practice their faith.”
Barack Obama also used the platform to tout his achievements in office and concluded by saying that “By so many measures, our country is stronger and more prosperous than it was when we first got here.” While Obama’s economic achievements in the United States is undeniable, some would argue that the same cannot be said about his foreign policy.
The Obamas are enjoying their last Christmas vacation as America’s First Family in Hawaii and it’s from there that he tweeted the family picture. This year’s White House holiday theme is “The Gift of the Holidays”.
