Hillary Clinton is now leading the President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump with over two million votes according to recent reports. But she’s still massively behind in the all important electoral college votes. Trump has 290 electoral votes and Clinton is trailing him with meagre 232 votes. A candidate needs at least 270 electoral votes to win the White House.
However, the massive gap in the popular vote prompts a lot of her supporters to question Trump’s mandate. And a group of scientists are calling on her campaign to challenge results in states like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Saying they sensed irregularities and hacking in those states.
It’s highly unlikely Clinton will challenge the results. In her concession speech she said “Trump will become our President” and urged the nation to give him a chance. President Obama has repeatedly said that “the peaceful transition of power is the hallmark of our democracy”. While he campaigned hard and wanted Hillary Clinton to succeed him. He will be hesitant to support any call for a recount.
